So, they couldn’t kill off a perverted pedophile for the fans (but it would’ve given Aria a decent storyline), but they can kill off one of the greatest anti-heroes of all time? Fuck you, Marlene.

I loved Mona. She was the greatest character on the show, but you killed her off. Fuck you.

mona’s death actually meant something in the show; she figured out who A was, she got to be A for two seasons, and she’d gotten a sorta redemption storyline when all was said and done. her character got tremendous character growth. but she was always fated to die because she died in the books. once she wasn’t A any longer, her purpose to the show became infinitely diminished — especially after S3. and there were plenty of times when the show hinted that mona was gonna die, so it was inevitable. but they actually made us care about her, so her death had an impact.

what the fuck would it have accomplished to have killed off ezra? nothing. we would have had to sit through S5b, S6, and S7 with aria pining over her ~one true love~. it wouldn’t have given aria any character development, because the writers have never given aria character development. and ezra’s never been useful or integral to the plot in the way mona has been. his death would have meant nothing because he is a worthless character. it would have been a waste of time. ezra was irrelevant in the books, in the show, and his death would have been the most irrelevant thing ever. you think they’d give a grieving aria the same storyline as they gave emily after maya died? fuck no. aria wouldn’t be allowed to move on, ever, and would be reduced to a simpering mess. look at how they’ve handled her killing shana.

tl;dr: mona’s death meant something, it was relevant to the show like mona always was. ezra’s death would be stupid and pointless, and we already get enough of that character as it is

Harry was the favorite kid and he wasn’t even an official part of the family

Because Molly knows exactly how the Dursleys treat him. There’s no way Ron wouldn’t tell her. And Molly Weasley is a Mother. She gets a capital M because she is goddamn phenomenal at what she does. When she hears Harry Potter is on the train to Hogwarts in Book 1, her reaction isn’t to be starstruck. It’s to say “that poor dear had to come here all on his own.” Molly Weasley loves harder than anyone. She loves like it’s her sole reason for being. And when she hears there’s a poor boy who has never known love his whole life… how could she not?
